Mazella Harris, the youngest of four children, was born to J. Simeon and Eunice Wright Stonecypher, at Richland, Indiana, February 22, 1877. She came to Nebraska in October 1879 with her parents, living on the farm now known as the Arthur Pariset farm. She attended school in District 53.

In December 1892 her parents moved to Beaver City. In August 1912 she married Oscar W. Harris at Beaver City. They resided there until 1920 when they moved to Paola, Kansas. When Mr. Harris' health failed, they returned to Beaver City, where he died May 25, 1925.

After his death she returned to Beaver Crossing to care for her mother and brother. After the death of both, she, with her stepdaughter Edith, returned to Paola, Kansas to live for five years. They later moved to Topeka, Kansas for a few years.

She is survived by her nieces, Mrs. Eva McHale, Seward, and Mrs. Fern Range, Lincoln, Mrs. Eunice Kisker, California, and a nephew, L. C. Dygert, Exeter.

She was preceded in death by her husband and stepdaughter, Edith, her parents, two brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Harris died in the Goldsmith Home in Seward June 21, 1963.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist church, Beaver Crossing, at 10 a.m., with Rev. H. J. Coates officiating. Burial was at Beaver City.
