Funeral services for Bertha Scalisi Babineaux, 87, will be at 10 a.m. today, June 21, from Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
The Rev. Danny Torres will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation is from 8 a.m. Scripture service was held Tuesday evening.
Mrs. Babineaux died at 11:10 p.m. Sunday, June 18, 2000, in a local hospital.
She was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. She owned and operated a grocery store for many years. She also worked as a seamstress for the Fair Store for many years.
Survivors include one son, Ted J. Babineaux of Lake Charles; one sister, Annie Bouillon of Lake Charles; one brother, Johnny Scalisi of Lake Charles; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
