MACON - Graveside services for Milton Edward Minshew, 80, of 8966 Hawkinsville Road, who died Saturday will be held Tuesday at 11:00a.m. in Avondale Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Jeff Cummings, Rev. David Miller and Rev. Donald Minshew will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. Monday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue.
Mr. Minshew was born in Macon and was a graduate of Lanier High School. He had lived in Macon all of his life and was the son of the late Maultie Moore Minshaw and the late Lessie Tucker Minshew. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Air Force serving with the 57th Bomb Wing of the 410th Group of the Air Force as a propeller specialist. Mr. Minshew was retired from Robins Air Force Base after 38 years of service as a quality control specialist on the C-130 and C-140 Aircraft. He was also a member of Avondale Baptist Church, a master Gardner, member of the Georgia Tree Farm Association and member of the American Camellia Association.
Mr. Minshew is survived by his wife of 55 years, Emily Clark Minshew of Macon; daughter, Jennifer Minshew Warren of Bonaire; two sons, David Edward Minshew, Sr., Milledgeville, John Allen Minshew, Gray; three brothers, Henry Minshew and Lawrence Minshew, both of Macon, Dick Minshew of Sasser; six grandchildren, Tonya Minshew Cole, David Edward Minshew, Jr., Matthew Adam Warren, Melissa Elise Warren, Alaina Kristen Minshew, John Andrew Minshew; two great grandchildren, Austin Joseph Cole and Kristen Danielle Cole.
The family will greet friends from 7:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. Monday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue.
