BETTY JEANNE TOWSLEY ALLPHIN Age 84, died Thursday April 19, 2007, in Orem, Utah. Betty was born on April 27, 1922, in Brigham City, Utah, to John Warren and Elicia Grist Rowe Towsley. She married Richard Allen Allphin on December 19, 1945. They were long time residents of Oakland and San Leandro where they raised their five children and where Richard had an optometric practice. Betty was an active member of the LDS Church. She served two missions: the first as a Young Adult in the Oakland California Stake, and the second with her husband in the San Leandro California Stake. Betty began doing family history research as a young adult and pursued this throughout her life. She loved music and was a talented accompanist. Betty's life was one of compassionate service to her family and friends. She is survived by her four daughters and one son, Sharon (Brent) Lewis, Nancy (Herbert) Clark, Anne (Lionel) Bates, Connie (Stephen) Cooper, Stephen (Launa) Allphin, 24 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister-in-law Barbara Able Allphin (Hayward, California). She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, two brothers, son-in-law Kelly Jones, and grandson Jacob Mark Cooper. Funeral services will be held on April 30, 2007, at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary in Orem, Utah. Interment is in the American Fork Cemetery, American Fork, Utah.
