Obituary of Betty L. Neathery:
Betty L. Neathery, 69, died and was reunited with her husband at 8:20 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008, at Alton Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 31, 1938, in Hartford to James and Maude Adams. She married Robert L. Neathery on April 23, 1955 in Alton. He preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2007. She was a waitress at Lewis and Clark Restaurant in East Alton, Red Baron Restaurant in Bethalto, and the D&R Diner in Cottage Hills. She was also a 600 Club member and a member of the Wood River Moose Lodge. She is survived by her stepmother, Mary Adams of Cottage Hills; a daughter, Teresa Butler, and a son, Dale Neathery, both of East Alton; six grandchildren, Rob Neathery and his wife, Kim, James Neathery and his wife, Tammy, April Butler, Joshua Butler and his wife, Jenifer, and Stephanie and Deborah McDonald; four great-grandchildren, Michaela, Jaymee Lee, Annelise, and Jordan; a sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Richard Knoche of Cottage Hills; her father-in-law, George Neathery; and a sister-in-law, Linda Logsdon. In addition to her husband, her parents preceded her in death. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, where Tim Campbell will officiate at services at 11 a.m. Monday, March 31. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
