Ada and her husband, Alva Brasted, spent the summer of 1956 traveling across the country to visit family and friends. It was on their way back to their home that Ada was killed instantly in an automobile accident near Valparaiso, Indiana. Alva was hospitalized for 23-days and then convalesced for a month at the home of his son in Springfield, Virginia, and another month with his daughter in Denver, Colorado.
Ada Frances Crocker was born in Wahpeton, North Dakota on 27 November 1886; the daughter of William Goss Crocker & Sarah Baird Purdon. She married Alva Jennings Brasted on 15 June 1910 in Lisbon, North Dakota. They had three children.
