Mrs. Mary E. Standen, 93, lifelong resident of Amherst, of 848 Cleveland Ave., died yesterday at the Elyria Home after an illness of nine months.
Mrs. Standen was a descendant of the Hiram Belden family, a pioneer Amherst family. She was a graduate of Amherst High School.
Mrs. Standen was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church and a past worthy matron of Stone City Chapter Order of Eastern Star. Her husband, Harry D. Standen, died Nov. 13, 1953.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Gust (Charlotte) Zilch of Amherst; a son, Robert B. of Amherst; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Florence H. Gillman of Amherst. She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Friends will be received tomorrow 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home, Amherst, where the funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. he Rev. Jerry Paull will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial park, Lorain.
