Son of John Henry"Rimrock "Thompson and his wife Carrie L Thompson."Henry Gordon Thompson, the five year old son of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Thompson, died last Tuesday morning of scarlet fever, after a week's illness. The announcement of the child's death caused profoiund sorrow among the friends and acquaintances of the bereaved family. Gordon was a bright and winsome child, the idol of his parents, and to whom his loss is irreparable. The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon at 5 o'clock, and there was a very large gathering of the friends of the family at the cemetery, although owing to the nature of the disease, no services were held at the house. Members of the Odd Fellows and Knights of Pythias lodges marched in a body to the cemetery and the service of the I.O.O.F. order was read at the grave. It was a most affecting scene, and the greatest sympathy for the sorrowing parents was manifested by all present."
