George, the son of Benjamin and Eleanor Wilson, married Rebecca Straight in 1802. Their children were: Dorcas, William H, Margaret, and Benjamin S. It is said that George Wilson killed the last bear to be killed in this section. "...it came to his hog pen. A small dog got to barking at it. George got his rifle and followed the dog and bear about a mile. George killed it about half way up what now is known as Shuman's Run."
