Lucy Rose Held, 78, of North Apollo, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, at Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Allegheny Valley Hospital, in Natrona Heights, Harrison Township. She was born Feb. 21, 1927, in North Apollo, to Daniel E. Sr. and Rose Pearl (Riggle) Held.

Miss Held was employed as a cashier at Held's Shop n' Save in North Apollo and was a beautician for several years.

She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Apollo, where she was a member of W.E.L.C.A.

At one time, she was active in local bowling leagues. She lived in North Apollo all of her life.

Survivors include two brothers, Daniel E. Held Jr. and wife, Evelyn, and Clair Held and wife, Pearl, both of North Apollo; two sisters, Ruth Held-Ortz and Lois Whitlinger and husband, James, both of North Apollo; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Kenneth Held; and one sister, Fern Householder.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Gerald J. Medice Funeral Home, 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo, and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Apollo with her pastor, the Rev. Judith Boggs, officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Kiski Township.
