Stacey L. (Schabo) Bottensek, age 47, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away unexpectedly of a sudden heart attack on Saturday, June 30, 2018 in Tampa, Florida.

Stacey was born October 6, 1970 in New London, Wisconsin to Gary and Mary (Schroeder) Schabo. Her family moved to Wisconsin Rapids in 1982 and she graduated from Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids in 1988.

Stacey worked for Kerry Ingredients in Vesper, WI for fourteen years before pursuing her dream of becoming an over the road truck driver. Stacey trained as a truck driver at Fox Valley Technical College. She drove semi for a number of area companies and for the past 5 years was a self-employed owner/operator.

Stacey was a very loving and caring person who was always doing things for others. She enjoyed taking care of her yard and tending to her flower gardens. She loved to shop, especially thrift shopping with her mom, where she would find things to decorate her home for various seasons and holidays. Stacey had a special love for animals and enjoyed going to the casino. She was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Wisconsin Rapids.

Stacey is survived by her sons: Damien Passehl of Minot, ND and Zachary Mikkelson of Prairie du Chien, WI and his children Isabella, David and Dominik; her mother, Mary Gyrion of Wisconsin Rapids; her brother, Gary (Sara) Schabo of Cudahy, WI and their children Claudia and William; her significant other, Carl Amon of Wisconsin Rapids; three aunts: Jill Fancher, Judy (Mark) Styer, and Marlene Miller and their children; an uncle, George (Mary Lee) Schabo Jr. and their children; and her travel partner, her cat, Petey.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents; her father, Gary; her step-father, Jim; her son, Cody; and her brother, Blake; and 3 uncles: Larry Fancher, and Walter and Norbert Schabo.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Jonathan Petzold will officiate. Burial will be at Floral Hill Cemetery in New London. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 13 and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be designated to the South Wood County Humane Society.
