Arlene R. Gentry, 83, of Rockford, passed away on Friday June 1, 2018. Born September 2, 1934 in Rockford. Daughter of George and Marion (Carlton) Bigger. United in marriage to Russell Gentry on October 17, 1953 in Rockford. Arlene loved family and friends. Also enjoyed Nascar racing, ceramics, bon fires at the Whitney's farm. She loved working at Amerock.

Survived by her husband of 64 years, Russell; daughters, Cindy (Scott) Pearson, Jeannie (Bill) Blosser; granddaughter, Tiffani Cruz; great-grandchildren, Caiden and Oralia Cruz; sisters, Nancy Smith, Sandy (Everett) Whittenberg, Barbara Miller, Carolyn (David) Oslund; numerous nieces and nephews; best friends the Whitney Family; special dog, Flip. Predeceased by her parents; brother, Eugene Hansen; great nephew, Eric Howard Oslund; brothers-in-law, Carl Smith, Darius Miller; sister-in-law, Rachael Hansen.

Funeral Service at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 7 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park. Visitation at 12:30 p.m. until time of service. Burial following in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
