Alexander J. “Alex” Aschenbrenner, age 93, of Plainfield, passed away Thursday morning, July 5, 2018 at Ascension St. Claire's Hospital in Weston.

He was born September 14, 1924 in Auburndale, the son of Louis and Mary (Hilgart) Aschenbrenner.

Alex was raised on a farm in the Auburndale area with his seven brothers and sisters. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army and served from 1945-1947. He graduated with a degree in education from University of Stevens Point. Alex spent 14 years as a teacher and during that time he received his master’s degree in administration and in 1966 was named principle of Tri-County High School. Mr. Aschenbrenner was a member of the Plainfield Lions Club, and American Legion and St. Paul’s Catholic Church of Plainfield and its Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews; his special friend, Lucille Wegner; further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Plainfield. Alex will be laid to rest in the St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, Plainfield. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Paul’s Catholic Church would be appreciated.
