Loving and devoted father
WOLCOTT — Edward William Adamski, 80, of Waller Avenue, also known as "Ed" or "Eddie," died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden.
Mr. Adamski was born Aug. 9, 1926, in Waterbury, son of the late Frank and Helen (Yankofska) Adamski, and was a graduate of Leavenworth High School, Class of 1944. He was an Army veteran, having served during World War II. He was an apprentice at Scovill Manufacturing, and worked at American Brass, Anchor Fasteners, and at Highland Manufacturing until his retirement.
He loved classic westerns and collected clocks, kitchen gadgets and Native American art. He enjoyed gardening and antiquing, and was a New England Patriots and UConn basketball fan. He attended St. Pius X Church.
He is survived by two sons, Edward F. Adamski of Wolcott and William G. Adamski and his wife, Dawn, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; three daughters, Karen Freeman and her husband, Scott, of Wallingford, Sandy Amato and her husband, Don, of Wolcott, and Cheryl Olmstead and her husband, Kirt, of Wolcott; a sister, Jane Pfister and her husband, Al, of Norwalk; 11 grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Heather Hamelin.
Arrangements: A funeral gathering will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, at the Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott, with a service at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home today from 5 to 8 p.m.
