Barbara Ann Mathis Burdette, age 73, of 44 Lyons Street, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born on July 2, 1945, in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Harold Mathis and the late Troy Elizabeth Scott Mathis. Barbara was the devoted wife of the late Clinton Cecil Burdette until his death in 1983. Her occupation was providing private home health care for patients. She was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.

Survivors included a son, Clinton Cecil Burdette, Jr. (Diana) of Anderson; a daughter, Angelia Lynn Padgett (Kenny) of LaFrance, SC; two brothers, Robert and Roy Lee Mathis, both of Greenville; a sister, Emma Louise Ramey (Curtis) of Easley; six grandchildren, Christopher Burdette, Brendan Chapman, Jacob Weaver, Briana Burdette, Makenzie Weaver, and Chloe Weaver; and two great-grandchildren, Mallory Burdette and Montgomery Greer. In addition to her parents and husband Clint, Barbara was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Ann Taylor.

The funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Barbara Burdette will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018, at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Pastors Allen and Terry Craft officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Ace Allen officiating. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home Thursday, July 5, 2018, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
