Born in Greenville, he is the son of Elizabeth Buchanan Bagwell and the late James Manual Bagwell.
Mr. Bagwell served in the United States Marines. He retired after serving as Captain of the Police Force of Furman University for 17 years. Prior to working at Furman University, he served as a Captain of the Greenville County Sherriff's Department for ten years and he was also Athletic Director for Monaghan Mill.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a daughter, Melissa (Missy) Packard (Jeff); a son, Danny Scott Bagwell; four grandchildren, Ross (Allie), Rachel Packard, Griffin, and Tyson Bagwell; a brother, Robert Bagwell (Sue). He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Eugene Bagwell.
Burial at Graceland West Cemetery.
