Reba Jean Adams Swanson Shew, 82, of Lenoir, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir. She was born on July 7, 1935 in Caldwell County to the late Robert Hayes Adams and Alma Adams. Reba was married to the late William “Toby” Shew for 15 years. Reba attended Crestview Baptist Church, and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed.

Reba, in addition to her husband and parents, is preceded in death by brothers: Hugh Adams and Robert Wayne Adams.

Reba is survived by her sons: Gene Swanson and wife Tammy; Jeff Swanson; and Joel Swanson and wife Shirley. Reba is, also, survived by her grandchildren: Ethan, Evan, and Patrick Swanson. Reba leaves behind a brother, Marshall Hayes Adams and wife Gail.

There will be a celebration of life for Reba on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 11:00 am at Evans Funeral Chapel; officiated by Pastor Mike Isaacs.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Evans Funeral Chapel.

Interment will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
