Lillian Pitts Salley, wife of the late Edward Chisolm Salley of Orangeburg, died Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Born in Rock Hill, she was a daughter of the late Laurens Dorroh Pitts and Lillian Miller Pitts. She attended Winthrop College and graduated from Hollins College in Roanoke, Va., with a degree in Music.

Prior to her marriage she worked for J.P. Stevens in New York, N.Y., was Director of Music for WIS in Columbia and worked for the Columbia Music Festival. She was a devoted member and Deacon Emeritus of First Presbyterian Church, Honorary Lifetime member and former president of The Women of the Church, a Circle member and a founding member of the Remnant Sunday School Class. She was actively involved in the Driftwood Garden Club and the Ann Pamela Cunningham Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved music and playing the piano. She was an avid bridge, golf and tennis player.
