Henry County Local---March 30, 1928

Gus A. Parkhurst, (1856-1928), 71 years of age, died at his home in Pendleton Tuesday morning following a short illness of pneumonia. Mr. Parkhurst lived practically all of his life in the same neighborhood and when in his prime was a breeder of Angus cattle for which he was noted, having taken many prizes at fairs with his stock. Due to declining health Mr. Parkhurst moved to Pendleton several years ago at which place he died.

He was married to Miss Anna Belle Vance, who survives as does one son, G. L. Parkhurst, cashier of the Simpsonville Bank and Mrs. Gertrude Montgomery of Washington Court House, OH and several grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Smithfield Methodist Church, Thursday morning by his pastor Rev. Houston, with burial in the Smithfield Cemetery.
