Joseph "Jack" Felix Biver, 85, Joseph "Jack" Felix Biver, 85, town of Bashaw, died on Saturday, July 8, 2000, at home.He was born in the town of Bashaw on Jan. 3, 1915, to Felix and Theresia (Hanisch) Biver. He attended Bashaw Valley School.On July 26, 1944, he married Ruth E. Swetland at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church in Crescent Lake in the town of Scott, Burnett County.He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Shell Lake, where he served as an usher for 50 years. He was a member of the Father Harrington Council of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the National Farmers Organization and served as a 4-H leader for 25 years.Joseph and Ruth had spent the last seven winters in Sun City, Ariz., where they attended St. Joachim and St. Anne Catholic Church. There he was a member of the Fairway "500" Club, the Handicapables Club, and the Sun City Travelogue Club.He is survived by his wife; seven children, John, Spooner, Thomas, Spooner, Susan (Duane) Hughes, Frederic, Theodore (Judy), Rice Lake, Joseph, Spooner, James, Spooner, and Mary (Daniel) Denver, Cumberland; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Felix "Bud" Biver, and a sister, Rose, Berwyn, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.Joseph was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Charles, and Frank; and four sisters, Anne (Henry) Vogel, Sophie (Edwin) Hanson, Marie (Hugo) Edwall, and Catherine Biver.The funeral was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Spooner, with Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.Music was provided by Sister Dominica Effertz and the St. Francis de Sales choir. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Dahl Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Spooner.
