Louis Beson of Ann Arbor, died Sunday, December 31, 2017. He was 93 years young.

Louis was born in Marine City, Michigan, on November 5, 1924, the son of Evart and Lottie (Broadbridge) Beson.

Louis served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force, where he received a Dependency Discharge to care for his mother after the death of his father. While in the Army he received the Good Conduct Medal.

He married Velma Hall on November 4, 1950 and together they made their home in Ann Arbor.

After Velma's death in 1982, Louis married Vera L. Boynton on March 28, 1987.

Louis worked for King Seeley, the Ann Arbor Fire Department, was Chief of Police in Dexter, and Plant Guard at the Chrysler Proving Grounds in Chelsea, when he retired in 1980. Louis enjoyed keeping up with motorcycling with his son and George, listening to the Big Bands & Jim Reeves, and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers football team.

He was preceded in death by his wife Vera and his siblings, Evart and Margaret.

He leaves behind his children, Dennis (Sherry) Beson, Debbie (Diuguie) Wiard, grandchildren Amber (Josh) Luongo, Rachel (Jake) Clark, Spencer (Mim) Wiard, Tori Beson and great grandchildren Zander & Declan Luongo, and Juliet and Lilly Beson.

A memorial gathering will be open on Saturday, June 2, from 12-2pm, at Classic Cup, 4389 Jackson Road, for those who would like to visit with the family.
