Anthony Fricano passed away October 16, 2008 under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born August 27, 1923 in Batavia he was the son of the late Joseph and Concetta Fricano. Anthony graduated from Batavia High School in 1941. After high school he enlisted into the US Army in 1941 serving during WW II and was involved in the invasion of Africa and Italy. Upon his discharge in 1945 Anthony attended SUNY Brockport earning his Bachelor of Science degree in 1950 and his Master of Science degree in 1953. Anthony taught at the Campus of School of Buffalo State Teachers College, with the Lockport School District, was the elementary supervisor at Booneville Remsen School District and was the principal at Starpoint Central Elementary School retiring after 21 years. Upon retirement the building was renamed in his honor. Anthony was a member of the VFW, American Legion B. Leo Dolan Post 410, South Lockport Volunteer Fire Co. Exempt, served as past president of the South Lockport Fire Company, life member of PTA and NYSR.
Anthony is survived by his wife Katherine (Rogers) Fricano; father of Hon. Amy J. (Robert M. Graff, Esq.) Fricano, David A. Fricano and Karen A. Fricano; grandfather of Michael D. Fricano, Casey R. Brown, Mollie E. Brown, Robert J. Graff, Katherine K. Graff, Kirstie L. Petrie and Patrick J. Petrie, III; brother of Michael Fricano of Batavia and several nieces and nephews.� Predeceased by sisters Rose Patri, Carrie Salvadore and brothers Sam Fricano and Joseph Fricano.
