Dennis Calvin Streiff was born to Melvin and Kathryn (Figi) Streiff on the family farm in New Glarus on August 11, 1928 and died June 26 at the Glarner Lodge. He was married to Marion Ruth Fredrickson on June 6, 1948. Dennis was a life-long resident of New Glarus and was involved in numerous community activities, including a charter member of Edelweiss Chalet Country Club, member of the New Glarus Home board of directors, a guide at the Historical Society Museum, actor and director of the Wilhelm Tell Play, member of the Yodel Club and Maennerchor, and lifelong member of Swiss United Church of Christ and its choir. Dennis was very proud of his Swiss heritage.

He is survived by daughters Christine (Ben) Sternberg, Susan (Mark) Wainwright, Petra Streiff (Larry Stuessy) and Amy (Ron) Legler; also, his sister Marie Slotten, brother Stephen (Sharon) Streiff, sister-in-law Jeanne Fredrickson and brother-in-law Howard (Vilyn) Fredrickson, also 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his son, Stuart (2007), his wife, Marion (2013), brothers Kenneth (& Lorraine), Clayton (& Marion), Paul and Harley.

Visitation will be on Saturday, July 7 at 9:30 A.M. followed by a service at 11, all at Swiss United Church of Christ, New Glarus.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Swiss UCC Stained Glass Window Fund.
