She was the former Louise Fortney, a native of Muhlenberg County, KY, a homemaker and a member of Kenwood Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orvil Lee Lay.
She is survived by two sons, James M. Lay and his wife, DeAnn, and Richard L. Lay and his wife, Marlene; a sister, Mary Rowland; four grandchildren, Richard L. Lay Jr., Kristin Norton, Rhonda Lay and Andrea Lay; and two great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 4, 2005, at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens-West. Visitation will be from 2-4:30 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, February 3, 2005, at Highlands. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
