She spent her girlhood days in Coles County, Illinois. She was married to Franklin M. Malcom, September 30, 1900. To this union was born three children, Harry, Russell and Thelma Carson. She leaves to mourn her death a bereaved husband and daughter, Thelma Carson and six grandchildren, Jackie Malcom, Forrest Malcom, Shirley Carson, Russel Carson, Patty Malcom, and Roslie McMillan, who lived with her grandmother and grandfather, Malcom. She also leaves one brother, Thos. Brandenburg; one sister, Ethel Rhoads, and two daughters-in-law, Opal Malcom and Wanda Malcom and a host of relatives and friends.
Having preceded her in death, two sons, Harry Malcom and Russel Malcom; one brother and her father and mother. She became a Christian 21 years ago and united with the United Brethren Church at Weaver Chapel.
Her life has been one of goodness and devotion. She always helped those that appealed to her, and sympathized with those in distress, the needy were never turned away without assistance. Her kindness and loving ways were a great comfort to her in her long illness. She had been a constant sufferer for several years, and at times her suffering seemed more than she could bear, but at last when all that loving hearts and willing hands could do, death came and silently took the sufferer home.
