Mary Lee was a little know member of the prominent Brasington Family of Cheraw, SC. As an infant, she fell victim to rheumatic fever which left her with intellectual deficiencies and in need of constant care. She remained, with in-home care, at her parents house during her lifetime. Because of the prejudice that exited in those days against people with severe intellectual problems few people knew her. Her sister Lois managed her care for many years after her Mother died in 1948.
