Mr. Dodd died Wednesday Apr 18, 1984) at his home after a brief illness.
He was born Oct. 20, 1900, in Blossom, a son of William Dodd and Mary Teague Dodd. A resident of Elkhart most of his life, he was a member of First United Methodist Church, 50 year member of Elkhart Lodge No. 400 AF&AM, Elkhart Lion's Club, and the Christian Men's Fellowship of Elkhart. Prior to retirement, he was a chief inspector for the highway department.
Survivors include his wife, Velma Kyle Dodd of Elkhart,; son and daughter-in-law, Bernie Kyle Dodd and Kandas of Athens; sister, Eva Welch of Seymour; two brothers, Emmitt Dodd of Seymour, and W.W. Dodd of Archer City; two grandchildren, Breck Kyle Dodd, and Leslie Dodd, both of Athens.
Pallbearers will be Webb Bratz, Eugene Bratz, A.B. Calcote, Lee Bridges, W.A. Montgomery, and Oscar E. Warren.
Honorary pallbearers are Pete Styner, Grover McDonald, Leland Bratz, Alton Morehead, and all employees and retirees of the Texas Highway Department in District 10.
