He married Shirley Ann Stinson on October 15, 1960 in Campbell, Tennessee. They had one son Anthony Patrick Smalley and adopted two daughters, Tammy Lynn Smalley and Lisa Smalley. They divorced Nov. 2, 1979. And married Elsie Elaine (Johnson) Beezley on Sept. 5, 1980.
