Charles Mitchell Bays, age 68, of Crossett, passed away at his home on June 21, 2018. He was born on March 9, 1950 in Crossett, AR, to his parents, Vernon and Bernice McCone Bays. Mr. Bays was a winder operator for 43 years at Georgia Pacific and a member of First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Crossett Lodge #576, 32 degree Mason, Crossett Rescue Unit, Army National Guard, volunteered 25 Years for the Crossett Fire Department, a member of the Cloverdale Hunting Club, the Prairie Country Club and a member of the American Legion Post III. Mitch enjoyed golfing and watching his grandchildren play baseball and softball. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Chester and Bernice Lois McCone Bays and two brothers, Kenneth and John Bays.

Mitch is survived by his wife of 48 years, Evelyn Bays; one son, Heath Bays (Julie); one daughter, Heather Sadler; three grandchildren, Kaci Sadler, Brooks Bays and Barrett Bays, and a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral services are 2:00PM on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jamie Staley and Bro. Ray Herron officiating. Interment is in Crossroads Cemetery. Pallbearers are Johnny Brooks, Bobby Shockley, Jack Allen, Coach Bobby Richardson, Scott Wheeler and Robin McElroy. Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Griffin, Sercy Thomas, Charles Strebeck, Ray Cossey and Jody Haney.

Visitation will be 1:00PM on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Jones Funeral Home Chapel, one hour prior to the funeral service.
