Funeral services for Bobby Hall, 75 of Madisonville, were held at 2 P.M., Saturday, March 24, 2018, at the Cross Baptist Church in the Cross Community of Grimes County. The Rev. Monroe Rice officiated the service, and interment was in the Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joel Jeter, Quincy Hall, Henry Duke, James Duke, Jacob Duke and Seth Patrick. Honorary Pallbearers: Seth Jeter, Joel Duke, Todd Brown, Josh Smith. Bobby Glen Hall was born July 11, 1942, in Madisonville, to Elbert Elmo and Ida Rae (Smith) Hall. He had proudly served his country in the United States Army and worked as a correction officer for TDCJ. Bobby was a voracious reader and enjoyed reading all subject matter. This especially included his Bible and other books about religion. He was a long-time member of the Cross Baptist Church in Grimes County where he also served as a Deacon and liked singing in church services. Bobby enjoyed writing poetry and playing the guitar. He was a Master Mason and a member of the Grand Lodge of Texas — Madisonville 740. Bobby passed away March 21, 2018, in College Station. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; brothers, Jerry and Elmo Hall and step-son, Marvin England. Surviving family members include wife, Flossie Hall of Madisonville; brother, Carl Hall and wife, Ida Jo, of Madisonville; sisters, Judy Blackwell of Huntsville and Janet Dennis of Watertown, N.Y.; and several special nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
