Grace Colleen Stockdale, 82, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018, at her home in Logan, Utah.

Colleen was born Oct. 21, 1935, to John William and Ethel (Rallison) Stockdale in Dayton, Idaho. She was the youngest of five children.

Colleen was a happy and imaginative girly girl growing up. She often told stories of how she would sit at her desk at school and look out the window daydreaming of how her life would be. As she grew, her talents grew also. She was an accomplished seamstress and made most of her own clothing. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She had many parts in the operettas in school, then after school she performed numerous times both as a soloist and with her sister Nelda in a duet.

Colleen took up karate as an adult and just loved it. She was very meticulous about everything they taught her, earning her a brown belt. She also loved photography and took numerous classes to better her talent. Colleen loved roller skating and for years participated in their yearly performances at the Logan Roller Rink. She then passed this love to most of her children who also loved roller skating.

Colleen started working at Zions Bank right out of high school, where she worked for 35 years. She also worked at a photo shop in the mall, as a receptionist at a dentist office, and as manager of the Logan Roller Rink. She loved meeting and talking to new people.

Colleen married Robert L. Zabriskie in 1967 and took on his four very active children as her own (a task that was not easy). They divorced nine years later, but Colleen stayed part of the children's lives until the day she passed. Her grandchildren lovingly called her "Grandma Coney Witch" because she was born in October, always dressed up as a witch for Halloween, and they couldn't say Colleen so they called her Grandma Coney. She loved her grandchildren very much.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, brothers William R. (Barbra), Howard Dee (Ruth), and sisters Clarice, and Nelda.

Colleen is survived by her stepchildren, Dixie (Alan) Beesley of Lewiston UT, David (Sharon) Zabriskie of Casper WY, Don (Lola) Zabriskie of Dayton, ID, and Kathy (Ray) Henrie of Montpelier, ID; 19 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nyman Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2018, in the Logan, UT, Cemetery at noon. No viewing will be held.

The family would like to thank Colleen's friends, neighbors, co-workers, landlord (and his family) for all the love, kindness and help that was given to her. A special thanks to Nyman Funeral Home for their above-and-beyond service given at this time.
