Cathy was born in Charlotte to the late Girlie Armstrong Hager Ward.
She was preceded in death by her mother, her maternal grandparents; Leonard and Margaret Cannon Armstrong, Aunt Libby Allen, two uncles, Jerry and Ralph Armstrong; her father-in-law Arthur Franklin and her brother-in-law Bobby Franklin.
Cathy had a strong faith in God and didn't hesitate to ask everyone who took care of her if they knew Jesus.
Cathy was married to the number one Love of her life; Richard A. Franklin for 31 years. Left behind to cherish her memories are her husband Richard, number two love of her life; son Cameron Franklin, one sister Michelle (Mark) Thomas from Wilmington NC. Four Aunts; Gaynell (Mack) Ottinger, Ruby (John) Ford from Stanley; Brenda (Glenn) Roberts from Belmont, Kay (William) Lanier from Gastonia; her mother-in-law, Lyna Franklin from Gastonia. Cathy is also survived by 24 first cousins, seven nieces and nephews and many friends from the Lynn Jonas Farm where the third love of her life was boarded, her horse Riley.
