Vernon Graham Adams
Vernon Graham Adams, age 92, of Kittanning, PA, died on Friday, October 24, 2008, at St. Andrews Village.
He was born on August 17, 1916, in Valley Twp., Armstrong Co., PA, to Guy and Martha (Graham) Adams.
Mr. Adams was a member of the Whitesburg United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Kittanning East Brady Masonic Lodge #244, the New Castle Consistory, the Pittsburgh Syria Shrine, and the Elderton American Legion. Vernon was a thirty-third degree Mason and was very active in a number of Masonic organizations. He was a co-owner of the former Adams Steel Erection. Vernon served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a captain and took part in the Combat Engineers, and the European Theater.
He is survived by his three sons, Allen G. Adams and wife Susie of Kittanning, David C. Adams and wife Pam of Kittanning, and Vernon G. Adams and wife Debra of Delmont; five grandchildren, Kevin Adams, Holly Thall, Steve Adams, Joshua Adams, and Jonathan Adams; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 48 years, Annabel Pat (Helm) Adams who died September 4, 1993; a brother, David Ross Adams; and two sisters, Helen G. Crissman and Mary Alberta Jackson.
Friends will be received from 7-9 P.M. on Saturday, October 25, 2008 and 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Sunday, October 26, 2008 at the Bauer Funeral Home, 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA, where a Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 26, 2008.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, October 27, 2008 at the Bauer Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Rea and Rev. Craig Lindhal co-officiating.
Interment will be held in the Kittanning Cemetery, Rayburn Twp., Armstrong Co., PA.
