Jim Abele, resident of Walnut Creek, passed away peacefully at his home from cancer, surrounded by family. Born in Philadelphia, PA, the son of George & Martha Abele, he served on diesel submarines in the United State Navy from 1954-1957. He married Therese Love on February 22, 1958. Jim graduated from LaSalle University in 1964. The couple moved to Walnut Creek, CA in 1974. Jim started his career with Standard Pressed Steel & retired as a system analyst for the University of California. Jim was very active with Walnut Creek Little League & the Walnut Creek transportation commission. He loved live music, especially the work of the East Bay Banjo Club.

Jim is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Therese, his grandson Ryan, his brother George & sister Marion. Jim is survived by his sister, his six sons, & 12 grandchildren. A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 am Saturday January 27, 2018 at St. John Vianney Church in Walnut Creek.
