HOMER (Steve) LAMPTON ATWOOD, 89, of 920 Mulberry Ave., died Saturday morning at Washington County Hospital. Born in Luray, Va., he was a son of Joseph and Emily Beam Atwood.

He was a member of St. Matthew's United Methodist Church; Red Men; and Antietam Fire Co. He had been employed at Western Maryland Railway, and later employed at Brandt Cabinet Works, retiring in 1963.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edna Ellen Hawbaker McAllister Atwood; step-daughter, Mrs. Betty J. Snyder, Hagerstown; step-sons, Ray, George F. and John W. McAllister; sisters, Annie D. Atwood, Stanley, Va.; Alva Atwood, Luray, Va.; and Mrs. Charlotte Shuler, Shenandoah, Va.; 2 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; and 2 step-great-grandchildren.

Services were held at the Minnich Funeral Home. Burial in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Williamsport -- Mrs. VIRGINIA ATWOOD SCHAUB, 56, of 2718 Buford Drive, died Saturday morning at Washington County Hospital. Born in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Homer and Blanche Jacobs Atwood. She was a member of the Washington Square United Methodist Church of Hagerstown. She served as a registered nurse with the Public Health Department for many years.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. C.H. Eyler of Hagerstown; two sons, Robert P. Schaub and Michael Schaub, both of Hagerstown; and one grandchild.

Services were held at the Coffman Funeral Home. Burial in Rest Haven Cemetery.
