Services for Mrs. Virginia Scott, 47, of Bossier City, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 2 at Boone Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Hill Crest Cemetery.


Mrs. Scott, born in Marston, MO, died Wednesday, June 29, 1983 at Bossier Medical Center.


She was a homemaker and member of the First United Methodist Church of Bossier City, the Rebecca Lodge and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion.


Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her first husband, William Larkin (Bill) Austin; her parents, Joseph and Ida Launa Baty Everett; two brothers, Lawrence Lindall (Larry) Everett and Joseph Marlin (Junior) Everett.


She is survived by her husband, Floyd Milton Scott Jr. of Bossier City; two sons, Stephen Joseph (Steve) Austin, stationed in California with the U.S. Marines, and Larry Randall (Randy) Austin, of Bossier City; two sisters, Inez Everett Braddy and Mary Justine Everett Jones, of Huntsville, AL; two brothers, Clifford Eugene Everett of Del Rio, TX, and John William Everett of Los Angeles, CA; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.


Virginia Launa Everett and William Larkin (Bill) Austin were married on July 11, 1954 in Hernando, MS.


He preceded her in death on August 31, 1967 from a massive heart attack at the age of 36. He is buried at the Memphis National Cemetery in Memphis, TN.
