PREECE Clarence “Lee” Preece 61 of Jacksonville passed away April 28, 2006. A native of Martin County, KY, he had resided in Jacksonville since 1968, was a member of Dunns Creek Baptist Church, Oceanway Masonic Lodge #279 F & AM, VFW Post #1406 and DAV Chapter #1 all of Jacksonville. Lee was a disabled veteran having served during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army and was a retired truck driver. He is survived by 1 daughter: Melissa Sheedy of Orange Park, 2 sisters: Oudia Meurer of Jacksonville, Linda Hiott of Columbus, Ohio, 2 brothers: Kennis Preece of Louisa KY. Sheman Preece of Mt. Sterling, KY and 2 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 7 P.M. Monday at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, with Brother Mack Sparks officiating, followed by Masonic Services conducted by Oceanway Masonic Lodge. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the services. Final services will be held 11 A.M. Thursday in Wolfe Creek, KY with full military honors in Preece family cemetery, with Richmond Callahan Funeral Home of Inez, KY in charge of arrangements.
