Rev. Charles W. Ablett, 49, passed away at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. He attended Metropolis schools but took a position with the Postal Services before graduating. He completed his education and graduated in May 1931, after which he became ordained to the ministry. He married Miss Alma Smith in 1922 and to them was born one son, Charles B. Ablett. On August 5, 1931 the First Baptist Church of Metropolis, by resolution, asked that he be ordained to the full gospel ministry.
