(1936-2018)

Mrs. Jearlean Bailey Bledsoe, age 81, of Grahn, Kentucky, passed away Thursday evening, June 14, 2018, at her residence.

She was born July 18, 1936, in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Willard and Ada Barker Bailey.

Jearlean was a member of the Kirk Memorial Baptist Church and enjoyed going to church, quilting, gardening, cooking, volunteering at the Grahn School Community Center and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Everett “Elwood” Bledsoe; one great granddaughter, Bryleigh Jade Kiser; and three brothers, Larry Bailey, Wayne Bailey and Marvin Bailey.

Jearlean is survived by one son, Hal Bledsoe (Karen); two daughters, Rita Bledsoe and Sonja Kiser (Larry); four grandchildren, Chris Bledsoe, Derrick Kiser, Andrew Bledsoe and Abigail Thornsberry; six great grandchildren, Caitlyn Bledsoe, Ethan Bledsoe, Xander Thornsberry, Palmer Kiser, Cameron Kiser and Autumn Thornsberry; three brothers, Estill Bailey (Janice), Sam Bailey (Kathy) and Don Albert Bailey (Sara); and six sisters, Jewell Garvin, Carolyn Bailey, Gail Adkins (Arnold), Janice Stevens (Edward), Della Mae Knipp (Garland) and Joyce Ann Matthews (Mark). She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2018 at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother James Russell Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in the Carroll Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2018 and after 9 a.m. Monday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.

Hal Bledsoe, Larry Kiser, Chris Bledsoe, Derrick Kiser, Andrew Bledsoe and Justin Thornsberry will serve as pallbearers.
