Born in Florence, SC, he was the son of the late Paul C and Annie Miller Pearce. Before his retirement, he was employed with Greenwoods Mills. He was a member of the Savannah River Beagle Club, Edgefield, SC and attended Harris Baptist Church in Greenwood. During World War II, he served with the US Navy.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lessie Kazimer Pearce; three step-sons, Gary D. Bell and John M. Bell, both of Greenville and Larry E Bell of Anderson; three sisters, Mrs. Orelle P Weeks and Mrs. Virginia P Putnam, both of Greenville and Mrs. Inez P Long of Columbia; three brothers, Brooks Pearce of Laurens, Frank Pearce of Greenville and Harold Pearce of Dothan, AL; seven step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4pm Sunday at the Chapel of the Thomas McAfee Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland East Memorial Park.
