In 1988 she moved back to the East Coast where she worked at Mystic Maritime Graphics, a division of Mystic Seaport in Mystic Connecticut. Upon the death of her daughter's husband, Agnes moved to Ohio where she worked as executive assistant to the director at the YMCA, later the Humane Society of Allen County and finally the Lima Memorial Hospital Foundation from which she retired in 2003.

A breast cancer survivor, Agnes was involved with the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of Lima. She was a past board member for the Lima Sister Cities Association which allowed her to travel to Japan in 2001. As a member of the Lima Noon Optimists, Agnes served as Club Secretary, was a past Club President and past District Lieutenant Governor.
