WALKERTOWN, North Carolina - Mr. James "Jimmy" Edward Hedderly, 75, of Walkertown, husband of Kathleen Hawks Hedderly, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Hedderly was born June 13, 1926, in Spartanburg County, S.C., the son of the late Albert M. and Annie Bates Hedderly. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II, a self-employed postal carrier, and attended Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Kathleen Hawks Hedderly; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Ann Harris, Sue and Rick Davis, Kathie and Dennis Bowers, and Lisa and Terry White; a son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Eileen Hedderly; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Levi Thompson; and a brother, Michael Hedderly. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hedderly was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Smith. A graveside service will be held Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Hawks Family Cemetery in Lambsburg, Va. The service will be conducted by Elder Vance Jones and Elder David C. Jones. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home of Mount Airy.

His paternal grandparents were Albert Michael Hedderly and Mary Elizabeth "Hermine" Kanapaux Hedderly of Charleston, South Carolina
