Rev. Ted and Ruth Spears will officiate. Vera was born on August 18, 1914, in Friendship, New York. She raised her family in Taft, CA then moved to Bakersfield where she lived many years and was known and loved by many. Vera played in the first all girls band of Taft, CA which marched in the Pasadena Rose Parade in 1930.

Vera has won many souls to Christ in her lifetime and was never ashamed to ask anyone if they personally knew her Heavenly Father.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ward and Nina Hunt; brother Kenneth Hunt and husband Lester Heaps. She is survived by her sister Betty Pequignot; beloved daughter Phyllis Rascoe and husband Gary who was like her own son; two grandchildren Rhonda and spouse Art Brown and Michael Rascoe and spouse Pat; two great-grandchildren Matthew Rascoe, Adrienne and spouse Greg Dovell; two great-great-grandchildren Corbin Daniel and Kyra Rene who were the sunshine of her life.

Precious Mother, you were always true and faithful to the old rugged cross, now you have exchanged it for your crown.

Visitation begins Thursday, 2:00-9:00 p.m.

To my Mother

You held me when I cried.

You kissed my cuts and bruises.

You comforted me when I was sick

And prayed and nursed me back to health

You wept at my defeats

And applauded me in my victories.

You were my greatest champion

And were always my best friend.

Mother, I love you always

And I wish you were here, now

To hold me while I weep

I refuse to say Goodbye!

Thank you for being the best mother

A daughter could ever have!
