Chester Franklin "Bubba" Goings, Jr., 48, of Terre Haute died early Wednesday morning, Feb. 7, 2007. He was a newspaper man for the Terre Haute Home Town Newspaper. He was born Jan. 28, 1959, in Terre Haute to Chester F. Goings, Sr. and Stella I. Lawson Goings.
Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Flora and Jacob Long of Terre Haute; one nephew, Robert C. Taylor; four nieces, Crystal Blystone and her husband, George, Darlena Hagemier and her husband, Gary, Virginia Long and her fiance, Kenny, and Daisie Coombes and her husband Glen Coombes Jr.; 17 great-nieces and great-nephews, Douglas, Andrew, Megan, Christina, Cassie, Christopher, Donetta, Stella, Robert, Terri, Sage, Sandra, Conner, Colt, Jacob, Haylie and Lexie; many stepgreat-nieces and stepgreat-nephews; and many special cousins who have been close for many years. "Bubba" loved fishing, camping and playing with his cat.
Funeral services are 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, at Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Larry Richmond officiating. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to services on Monday in the funeral home. The family kindly requests that for friends who so desire, memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47803, to help defray funeral expenses.
