Mrs. William H Young, 88, of 915 N Broad St, died at 2:05 AM today at St. Mary's Hospital.
Mrs. Young, the former Jennie M Baughman, was a native of Virgil, Lee County, born September 4, 1864. She resided many years in the Virgil and Prairie City communities and attended school at Virgil. She had resided in Galesburg 40 years. Her 3rd marriage was to William H Young took place September 22, 1902, at Prairie City, and the Youngs celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last September (1952).
Mrs. Young was a member of the First Methodist Church and was active in the Woman's Society of Christian Service of the church. She was also a member of the Oliver Wendell Holmes Club of which she was a past president. Her hobbies were sewing, fancy work and flowers.
Surviving are the husband; three children, Mrs. Charles Lutz and Chester Young, all of Galesburg, and Clyde Young, Cuba. There are two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2PM Monday at the Hinchliff and Wilson Funeral Chapel, with burial at the Prairie City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral chapel Sunday.
