Betty Sue Jackson Atwood Taft left this earth on Friday, June 8, 2018.

She was born February 20, 1931 to Allen and Ruby Jackson in Commerce, Texas.

She graduated from Andrews High School in 1949.

She married Bobby M. Atwood in Abilene, Texas in 1950 and lived in Andrews, TX.

Betty moved to San Angelo, Texas and worked at the Community Action Council for several years. While living in Levelland, Texas, she worked as Director of Housing for the HUD Administration. Betty was a loving and kind person and tried to help people in need as much as possible.

Betty is preceded in death by her father and mother; her son, Terry Atwood and her son-in-law, Rodney Green.

She is survived by her daughters, Penny Lange and husband, Bill and Pam Green; grandchildren, Patrick Lange and wife, Courtney, Chris Lange and wife, Tiffany, Hailey Bradley and husband, Bobby, and Bobby Atwood; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Tycie, and Kyla Lange, Cambrey and Caitlin Lange, Trey Bradley, and Caleb Atwood. Survivors also include her sisters, Janie Fanning of Abilene and Sarah Green of Robert Lee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Ballinger Hospital and at Ballinger Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Also, thanks to Dr. Hardwick and Dr. Martinez. The family would also like to thank the Robert Lee Care Center.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 1:00 – 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 10 at Lange Funeral Home with services following at 2:00 pm at Lange Funeral Home Chapel in Ballinger.

Burial will follow at Rowena Protestant Cemetery.
