He was born July 16, 1922 in Burnt Prairie, the son of Carson and Lola Short Pollard. He married Gladys Ude on March 8, 1945 in Arkansas and she survives.
Mr. Pollard was a farmer and a United States Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys; three sons and a daughter-in-law, James and Sarah Pollard of Fairfield, Robert Pollard of Carmi, and Roy Pollard of Burnt Prairie; ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lloyd Pollard of Albion, Murrell Pollard of Peoria and Ronald Pollard of Fairfield; several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by twin daughters, Jean and Jane, and an infant son; two sisters, Martha Faye Carter and Ruby Mae Carter.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home/Kittinger-Fair in Carmi. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service.
Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi.
