"A strange find was made by workmen engaged in digging a sewer trench on Inn Street, Saturday, when they unearthed a gravestone some six feet below the surface. The inscription was plain, and read as follows: "Abagail Noyes, wife of Jacob Noyes, died Sept. 25, aged 52 years - 1796." There is no clew to its history, although the name is a common one in old Newbury."
