She was the Daughter of David & Elizabeth (Hawthorn) Montgomery. She married John Henry HURST on 30 Jun 1814 in Jasper County, Georgia. She was 18 & he was 25 years of age. John Henry Hurst was born 27 Aug 1788 in North Carolina & died 08 Apr 1853 in Newton County, Georgia. This union produced at least 15 children: 1.) George Jackson, born 16 Jun 1816 in North Carolina & died 15 Dec 1894 in Probably Newton County, Georgia. He was buried in the Hurst Family Cemetery, Social Circle, Newton County, Georgia. He married Frances 'Fannie' Ann (Gibson) HURST who was born 27 Dec 1814 & died 19 Jun 1894. They were married on 27 Dec 1836. & 2.) David Martin Hurst, born 25 Jan 1818 in North Carolina & died 30 Sep 1842. 3.) William Raburn Hurst, born 29 Jun 1820 in North Carolina & died 20 Jul 1864 He married Mary Beaton (Daniell) Hurst who was born 29 Mar 1825 & died 25 Apr 1901. 4.) James Montgomery Hurst, born 31 Dec 1821 in Big Ivy Creek, Buncombe County, NC & died after 1900 in Social Circle, Walton County, Georgia. 5.) Elizabeth Hawthorne Hurst, born 06 Sep 1824 in Newton Co., Georgia; 6.) John Newton Hurst, born 12 Dec 1825 on Monday at 08:00 pm in Newton Co., Georgia & died 01 Dec 1905 at his son's, William's, home in Opelika, Lee County, Alabama. He first married Lucretia Jane (Pace) Hurst on 13 Jan 1847 in Jasper Co., Georgia. He married second to Frances R. (Hogan) (Forest) Hurst abt 1881 and later married a third time to Elizabeth 'Eliza; A. (Hayes) (Robertson) Hurst sometime after 1881; 7.) Minerva Margaret Hurst, born 29 Nov 1827 in Newton Co., Georgia. She married Frances Marion Sawyer; 8.) Mary Marinda Hurst, born 13 Aug 1829 in Newton Co., Georgia; 9.) Susan Frances Hurst, born 05 Jan 1833 in Newton Co., Georgia & died 26 Feb 1905 at 01:45 pm at the Old Adams Family Homestead near present day Dixie, Georgia. She married Elder William Adams on 27 Feb 1849 in Harris Springs Baptist Church in Newton Co., Georgia; 10.) Matilda Jane 'Mattie' Hurst, born 10 May 1835 in Newton Co., Georgia & died 02 Jan 1906 in possibly Alabama or Texas. She married Willis J. Thornton on 22 Feb 1856 also in the Harris Sorings Baptist Church in Newton Co., Georgia;
11.) Eliza A. Hurst, born abt 1836 in Newton County, Georgia & died Unknown; 12.) Louisa Ann Hurst, born 27 Feb 1837 in Newton Co., Georgia & died 01 Jun 1874 in Walton County, Georgia. She married George Alexander Gibson abt 1860 in Walton Co., Georgia. Louisa is buried in the Hurst Family Cemetery in Social Circle, Newton County, Georgia; 13.) Columbus Hurst, born abt 1838 in Newton Co., Georgia; 14.) Anderson Lee Hurst, born 14 Jun 1839 in Newton Co., Georgia and finally 15.) Martin Franklin Hurst, born 19 Sep 1841 in Newton County, Georgia.
