Anne Marsh Melton, 103, of Decatur, passed away on January 9, 2018. She was born on December 30, 1914 in Coffee County to Lenard and Maggie Marsh. Mrs. Melton attended nursing school for 3 years at Frazier-Ellis Nursing School in Dothan, AL. After she graduated as an RN, Mrs. Melton moved to Daytona Beach, FL where she met and married Guy Melton Jr in 1941. Mr. Melton enlisted in the US Navy during World War II. He was last assigned in Norfolk, Virginia. After Mr. Melton was discharged the family moved back to Daytona Beach and from there to Enterprise AL, and then in 1950 to Montgomery. Upon moving to Montgomery, Mrs. Melton began a 35 year career as a nursing supervisor at Jackson Hospital and Clinic. In 2003, she then moved to the North Alabama area to be close to her family. Mrs. Melton will be missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her 6 siblings, her husband of 58 years, Guy Melton Jr. She is survived by her only child, Glenn Melton (Jayne); 3 grandchildren, Dustin Melton (Amanda), Clint Simpson, and Brint Simpson (Andrea); 3 great-grandchildren. A special thanks to the staff of Country Cottage of Decatur, Gardens of Madison, and Southern Care Hospice. A Celebration of Life will be Friday, January 12, 2018, at 2:00 pm at Roselawn Funeral Home. A visitation will be one hour prior in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial for Mrs. Melton will be in Greenwood Cemetery beside her loving husband.
